A held container is the expensive kind

Most clearance problems are preventable — a commercial-invoice error, a wrong HS code, a missing approval. But the demurrage clock starts when the vessel berths, so a problem found at the port is a problem that costs money every day. We check the paperwork before the cargo arrives, not after.

Your goods classified under the 12-digit GCC tariff — the code that decides your duty band and your inspection risk.

Duty calculation

Duty worked on the CIF customs value under the GCC Common External Tariff, with exemptions applied where they exist.

Clearance at every entry point

Shuwaikh, Shuaiba and Kuwait International Airport — sea and air.

Restricted-goods approvals

Coordination of the PAAFR, MoH and MoCI approvals that certain cargo needs, before they hold up release.

Document pre-check

Commercial invoice, packing list and certificate of origin reviewed before arrival to catch the errors that cause holds.

Frequently asked questions

What is Mirsal 2?

Mirsal 2 is Kuwait's electronic customs declaration system. Every import declaration is filed through it. Filing it correctly and early is what gets clearance moving the day your cargo arrives.

Why do shipments get held at Kuwait customs?

Most often: commercial-invoice errors, a mismatched HS code, or a missing regulatory approval. Almost all of it is preventable if the paperwork is checked before the vessel berths.

How is import duty calculated in Kuwait?

Most goods carry a 5% baseline duty under the GCC Common External Tariff, applied to the CIF customs value. Some categories are exempt and a few are higher. The HS code decides which band applies.

Can you clear a shipment another forwarder arranged?

Yes — we can handle the Kuwait customs clearance on a shipment whose freight was booked elsewhere. Send the bill of lading and the invoice and we take it from arrival.
